Early Work

If a viewer were to look at my paintings in chronological order, they would notice a progression of themes and distinct styles that correlate to my confidence and flexibility. This process began with a tightly-defined painting style with little texture and scenes that are were carefully painted in a realistic manner. Gradually, my style became more flexible, becoming much looser and including a lot of color and texture in its expression. There are several different series. The earliest shows deep black night skies with realistic stars over mountains and water. Another shows surrealistic landscapes of alien ruins. One series shows birds in different settings, mainly crows, while another shows barren landscapes.  The series are widely varied in different styles of painting, including pseudo-realistic, surrealistic, impressionistic,  and expressionistic.
